The 1976 Rose d’Or Festival saw participation from all five continents, including the first submission from Nigeria – The Art Alade Show. Attendance was also strong once again, with just over 500 experts and journalists arriving in Montreux. For logistical reasons, the Festival did not take place as before at the Convention Centre but rather at the Hotel Montreux
Palace and the Pavilion de Montreux. Of the 27 programmes competing for a coveted Golden Rose award, the following winners were chosen:
Golden Rose to Norwegian entry The Nor-Way to Broadcasting. Silver Rose to Russian Television for La Lanterne Magique (The Magic Lantern). Bronze Rose to Picnic from the BBC.
